Bayern Munich welcome Lokomotiv Moscow to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday. The Bavarians have secured top spot in Group A, they will field a second string side against Lokomotiv who have to win in Germany.

Bayern Munich’s last Bundesliga match was a thriller that ended in a 3-3 draw against Leipzig. Jamal Musiala and Thomas Müller put Bayern 2-1 up with Müller equalising in the 75th minute. 

Bayern's defence is a big concern with injuries not helping their cause.

Defence is a problem for Bayern Munich with Jérôme Boateng, Lucas Hernández and Javi Martínez injured and Alphonso Davies doubtful.

Midfielders Joshua Kimmich and Corentin Tolisso are also injured. 

Expect Hansi Flick to make changes here with goalkeeper Alexander Nübel in line to start alongside defender Chris Richards, midfielders Jamal Musiala and Marc Roca, winger Douglas Costa and striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Lokomotiv Moscow Form


Lokomotiv Moscow have won two of their last 11 matches in all competitions. The Russian club have failed to win in five Champions League matches this season despite scoring in four of them.

Marko Nikolic’s side drew 0-0 draw at Atletico Madrid despite having 35% possession and 4-20 shots. Lokomotiv returned to the Russian Premier League with a 0-0 draw at Akhmat.

Lokomotiv suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Salzburg in a crucial match. Anton Miranchuk got them back into the contest with a 79th minute penalty but their defence let them down once again.

Lokomotiv Moscow’s last match was a 3-1 home win against Rubin Kazan. It was 1-1 when Rubin were reduced to 10 men in the 47th minute, another Anton Miranchuk penalty putting them ahead and Vladislav Ignatjev scoring his second to seal the deal.

Mikhail Lysov remains injured with Maciej Rybus to continue at left-back. 

Defensive midfielder Dimitri Barinov is injured alongside strikers Fedor Smolov and Ze Luis.

Daniil Kulikov is out having tested positive for COVID-19 which should see Stanislav Magkeev partner Grzegoriz Krychowiak in central midfield.
