Real Valladolid had a poor start to the La Liga season, failing to win in their opening eight matches. They bounced back with two straight wins.

Sergio’s side won 2-1 against Athletic Bilbao with Fabián Orellana and Marcos de Sousa on target. Valladolid then won 3-1 in Granada with Óscar Plano and Marcos de Sousa establishing a 2-0 lead and Jota wrapping it up in the 90th minute.

Real Valladolid drew 1-1 against Levante with Marcos de Sousa scoring in his third consecutive match. 

Valladolid’s last match was a 2-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid. They performed well at the Wanda Metropolitano but were ultimately unable to break down the La Liga leaders.
