Manchester United’s injury-stricken, forgettable season has one last chance to be redeemed by advancing to the last four of the FA Cup, but a rampant Liverpool side stand in their way as the two old foes face off at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag has tried and failed to find solutions to restore Manchester United to their old glory. While the Dutchman managed to find decent results last season, winning the EFL Cup, their first piece of silverware in six years, this year has been a nightmare for him. The injury-struck side has struggled to string together a decent run of results and, therefore, are in a fight to reach a Champions League spot.
Liverpool, meanwhile, seem like they can do no wrong and want to give Jurgen Klopp a stellar sendoff. They are perfectly placed to clinch the domestic treble after winning the EFL Cup by defeating Chelsea and are tied on points with league-leaders Arsenal. The Reds travel to Manchester unbeaten in their last four away games and a total of eight games.
Manchester United, placed sixth in the table, squandered a chance to close the gap by losing 1-2 at home to Fulham. Ten Hag’s men have also struggled to score goals since in-form striker Rasmus Hojlund suffered an injury. However, the Red Devils can expect the striker, along with Harry Maguire and Aaron van Bissaka, to be available for Sunday’s clash.
Klopp will also bemoan his long list of injuries, which might just be longer than United’s. However, his side can expect Konate, who missed the draw against City, to return.

Despite a long list of injuries, including star players Alisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold, the Reds are in brilliant form and perfectly placed to clinch victory on Sunday. Manchester United will fancy their chances, as they were the first team to make Liverpool drop points at Anfield this season with their goalless draw.
The return of Hojlund could also add to United keeping their hopes of any silverware alive this season and spoiling Liverpool’s chances of a quadruple. Despite that, the oddmakers are not taking any chances and firmly back Liverpool to come out on top.
