Union’s last match was a 2-2 draw at Stuttgart on Tuesday. Goals to Marvin Friedrich and Taiwo Awoniyi established a 2-0 lead but they conceded twice in the final 10 minutes which would have angered Fischer.

Borussia Dortmund have had a rough time of it which culminated in the sacking of Lucien Favre. A 1-1 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt was followed by a 2-1 win at Zenit in the UEFA Champions League.

A 5-1 home defeat to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga was as bad as it gets. Giovanni Reyna equalise before half time but their defence was shocking and allowed 3.08 expected goals while creating 0.78.

Edin Terzic took over and guided Dortmund to a 2-1 win at Werder Bremen in his first match in charge. Raphael Guerreiro opened the scoring and Marco Reus pounced on a rebound after his penalty was saved.

Full backs Thomas Meunier and Marcel Schmelzer are injured and midfielder Thomas Delaney is ruled out with a back injury.

Star striker Erling Haaland is ruled out until 2021 which could see 16-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko get another start.
