Union Berlin are having a great season in their second top flight campaign. They are undefeated in 10 of their last 11 Bundesliga matches.

Urs Fischer’s side won three in a row including a 5-0 home win against Arminia Bielefeld. The capital club drew 3-3 against Eintracht Frankfurt before an unlucky 3- defeat at Hertha Berlin.

Taiwo Awoniyi scored first at the Olympiastadion but a 23rd minute red card to Robert Andrich put them in a tough spot. They put up a fight but couldn’t hold on.

Union Berlin held Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw at home after Grischa Prömel opened the scoring in the 4th minute. It was a deserved point after edging ahead 1.09-1.06 in expected goals.

Union’s last match was a 2-2 draw at Stuttgart on Tuesday. Goals to Marvin Friedrich and Taiwo Awoniyi established a 2-0 lead but they conceded twice in the final 10 minutes which would have angered Fischer.

Centre backs Nico Schlotterbeck and Florian Hübner are injured. Midfielder Robert Andrich is suspended for another game.

Strikers Joel Pohjanpalo and Anthony Ujah are injured with Max Kruse out until 2021. Japanese forward Keita Endo is doubtful.

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi is in fine form with three goals in his last five matches.

Borussia Dortmund Form


Borussia Dortmund have had a rough time of it which culminated in the sacking of Lucien Favre. A 1-1 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt was followed by a 2-1 win at Zenit in the UEFA Champions League.

A 5-1 home defeat to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga was as bad as it gets. Giovanni Reyna equalise before half time but their defence was shocking and allowed 3.08 expected goals while creating 0.78.

Edin Terzic took over and guided Dortmund to a 2-1 win at Werder Bremen in his first match in charge. Raphael Guerreiro opened the scoring and Marco Reus pounced on a rebound after his penalty was saved.

Full backs Thomas Meunier and Marcel Schmelzer are injured and midfielder Thomas Delaney is ruled out with a back injury.

Star striker Erling Haaland is ruled out until 2021 which could see 16-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko get another start.
