Tottenham had gone on an eight-game unbeaten run including six victories prior to losing back-to-back matches in the last seven days.

Spurs endured a tough week, losing 3-1 at home to Liverpool last Thursday and 1-0 away at Brighton on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho's side lost Harry Kane to injury during the defeat to Liverpool, and his absence was felt at the Amex Stadium.

Spurs lacked a cutting edge as Leandro Trossard's 17th minute goal ended Brighton's 14-game run without a home win.

Harry Kane remains on the sidelines with an ankle injury. Midfielders Giovani Lo Celso and Dele Alli and full-back Sergio Reguilon are also out. 

A late decision will be made on midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who picked up a knock at Brighton.

Eric Dier and Matt Doherty should return to the Tottenham defence, while Lucas Moura could start in the forward line.

Chelsea Form


Thomas Tuchel got his first win as Chelsea manager with a 2-0 victory at home to Burnley on Sunday.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, on his return from exile, got the goals to seal a confidence-boosting win for the Blues.

Tuchel had overseen a 0-0 draw at home to Wolves in his first game in charge just 24 hours after replacing Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel has a full squad to choose from as he continues to discover his best line-up.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Marcos Alonso are expected to continue in the wing-back roles, meaning more time on the bench for Reece James and Ben Chilwell.

N'Golo Kante returned from injury to be among the substitutes against Burnley. But Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho should retain their places in the engine room.

Tammy Abraham was replaced at half-time against Burnley. Olivier Giroud could start in his place.
