Carlo Ancelotti’s side then produced two disappointing performances at home. The Toffees drew 1-1 against Leicester after being on the back foot for large periods and lost 2-0 against Newcastle.

Everton’s last match was a 2-1 win at Leeds. Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin established a 2-0 half time lead and they held on with the hosts hitting the woodwork in search of an equaliser.
