Everton and Arsenal face off in the English Premier League at Goodison Park on Saturday. The Gunners home form has been poor but they’ve gotten some good results on the road. Can they stop Everton from winning three in a row?

Everton Form

Everton started this English Premier League season with four successive victories but then hit a bit of a slump with only one win and a draw in their next six matches.

This last week has however been a good one for the Toffees with two big wins. After drawing 1-1 at Burnley, Everton beat the high-flying Chelsea 1-0 at home as Gylfi Sigurdhsson’s penalty proved enough.

In midweek Everton again kept a clean sheet, this time away at Leicester City. An early Richarlison strike gave Everton the lead before Mason Holgate secured a 2-0 away win with 18 minutes to play.

Everton Injuries & Team News

Carlo Ancelotti is still without left-back Lucas Digne and the versatile Fabian Delph for this encounter. Attacking midfielder James Rodriguez is expected to be back but whether he will start remains to be seen after two wins in his absence.

Seamus Coleman is another making his way back from injury and could feature on Saturday. Central midfielder, Allan is set to miss out in the engine room.

Arsenal Form

Arsenal are having a nightmare season and currently sit in 15th place on the English Premier League table.  They did manage break a three-match losing streak last time out with a 1-1 draw at home against Southampton.

The Saints took the lead but Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored his first league goal from open play since the opening day of the season to level matters. Gabriel Magalhaes was sent off for the Gunners in the 62nd minutes but they managed to hold on for the point.

Prior to that, Arsenal had lost 2-1 at home against Wolves, 2-0 at Tottenham and 1-0 at home to Burnley in the Premier League.

Results in the Europa League have been quite the opposite with Arsenal qualifying in top spot without dropping a point. It must be admitted that opposition in that group was not particularly strong.

Arsenal Injuries & Team News

Centre-back Gabriel and midfielder Granit Xhaka are suspended for this match. Mikel Arteta will also be without new signing Thomas Partey in midfield as he continues to recover from injury.

There are doubts over the availability of left-back Sead Kolasinac, forward Gabriel Martinelli and winger Reiss Nelson. Hector Bellerin is back from suspension at right-back.

Head to Head

Arsenal lead Everton 102-57 in 202 matches along with 43 draws.

Last season Everton managed to get a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park but lost 3-2 at the Emirates.
