Sevilla won five straight matches against mediocre opposition in November. They then lost 4-0 at home to Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League and 1-0 at home against Real Madrid in La Liga.

Julen Lopetegui’s side bounced back with three straight wins in the Champions League, La Liga and Cope del Rey. Sevilla drew 1-1 at home against Real Valladolid where they conceded an equaliser in the 82nd minute.

Villarreal last suffered defeat on 27 September in a 4-0 loss at Barcelona. The Yellow Submarine have gone unbeaten in their last 18 matches since.

Unai Emery’s side finished top of Group I in the UEFA Europa League with four wins in five matches. They progressed in the Copa del Rey with a 6-0 win at Leioa.

Villarreal returned to La Liga with a 3-1 win at Osasuna. They played against 10 men for over 70 minutes, Gerard Moreno bagging a brace and Fernando Nino on target.

Villarreal’s last match was a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao. 18-year-old winger Yeremi Pino equalised in the second half after hitting the woodwork.
