Leipzig are undefeated in their last 9 matches and won five of their last six matches on the back of five consecutive clean sheets. They grinded out a 1-0 win at Hoffenheim before an unlucky 0-0 draw at home against Koln.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side won 3-0 at Augsburg to progress in the DFB-Pokal. Willi Orban, Yussuf Poulsen and Angeliño scored in a comfortable victory.

Leipzig returned to the Bundesliga and won 1-0 at Stuttgart. Dani Olmo scored the winner in a deserved victory, Emil Forsberg seeing his penalty saved with Leipzig having 2.64-0.89 expected goals.

Defender Benjamin Henrichs and the versatile Konrad Laimer are injured. 

There are more problems in defence with Marcel Halstenberg, Ibrahima Konaté, Nordi Mukiele and Lukas Klostermann all doubtful.

The old problems resurfaced in a 2-1 defeat at Union Berlin. 16-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko equalised with his first Bundesliga goal but the defending was poor, especially from set pieces.

Borussia Dortmund won 2-0 at Eintracht Braunschweig to advance in the DFB-Pokal with Mats Hummels and Jadon Sancho on target. Sancho scored again in a 2-0 home win against Wolfsburg last time out after Manuel Akanji had put them ahead.
