Arsenal Form
Arsenal have had an incredibly inconsistent season thus far. They are 11th on the English Premier League table, one place and one point below Leeds United.
Earlier in the season Arsenal went on a seven match run in league football where they failed to win. Their form turned around, but they are now on another three-match winless run.
The Gunners lost 1-0 at Southampton as they were knocked out of the FA Cup but bounced back to beat the same opponents 3-1 away in the league. That was followed by a 0-0 draw at home to Manchester United.
Mikel Arteta’s side have lost their last two matches. First they went down 2-1 at Wolves where they finished the match with nine men. David Luiz and Bernd Leno both saw red.
In their last match, Arsenal suffered a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa after Ollie Watkins scored in the second minute. Arsenal struggled throughout and were perhaps fortunate that Villa didn't score more.
Arsenal Team News
Centre-back David Luiz and goalkeeper Bernd Leno are both available this weekend after serving their suspensions.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should return but with the form that Nicolas Pepe has shown down the left, Aubameyang could start up front.
Loan signing, Martin Odegaard is still waiting for his starting debut but he may have to wait until midweek.
Leeds Form
Leeds are having a fantastic first season back in the Premier League and sit 10th on the table. Their recent form has been good as well with three wins from their last four matches.
Since losing 1-0 at home to Brighton, Leeds have beaten Newcastle 2-1 away and won 3-1 at Leicester City. That was followed by a 2-1 home defeat to Everton.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side won their last match 2-0 at home against Crystal Palace. Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford were the goal scorers. Harrison has now scored three goals in his last four Premier League matches.
Leeds Team News
The only new injury concern for Bielsa is midfielder Kalvin Phillips. He will undergo a late fitness test before a call is made.
Centre-backs Robin Koch and Diego Llorente remain on the sidelines, as does forward, Rodrigo.
Head to Head
Arsenal hold a slight 41-38 lead over Leeds in 105 previous matches. There have also been 26 draws.
When they met at Elland Road earlier this season, the match ended 0-0.
Predictions
The potential return of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang offers plenty of threat to a Leeds side that tends to concede of goals on the road. The best bet for this match is for Arsenal to win while there should be on the agenda.
