The saga surrounding Lonnie Walker IV’s next career move didn’t last long. Although Crvena Zvezda and a few other clubs were reportedly in the mix, Walker will be based in Belgrade but is expected to sign with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The news was confirmed by George Langberg to well-known NBA insider Marc Stein, with one condition: the deal could fall through only if Walker receives a better offer from an NBA team before August 1st.

Full contract details are still under wraps, but once everything is finalized in the coming days, more clarity is expected.

Lonnie Walker IV played for Zalgiris Kaunas last season. While he had a solid start, his form eventually dipped. He finished the year averaging 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in about 22 minutes per game across roughly 20 appearances.

As for his NBA career, Walker spent several seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, where he averaged around 12 points per game, a similar stat line to what he posted during the 2024/25 season with the Philadelphia 76ers.
