Zaragoza vs Albacete

Zaragoza welcome Albacete to Ibercaja Stadium for a Spanish La Liga 2 fixture, with both teams still seeking their first win of the season.

Neither team are at their best this season and have been mostly plagued by poor defending. They will be desperate to get off the mark and could be set to serve up an open contest on Monday night.

Zaragoza News

Zaragoza head into Monday's clash off the back of a 1-1 home draw with Valladolid in their previous La Liga 2 fixture. Following a drab first half, the clash burst into life after the break, with Dani Gomez’s effort cancelled out by the visitors.

That result means Zaragoza are still searching for their first win of the season after four league matches. The good news is that they have drawn their last two fixtures, and manager Gabi will believe they are likely to turn a corner soon.

Poor defending has been one of the problems for Zaragoza, who have conceded in all four of their matches this season. However, they have scored in their last three matches, with the second half producing more goals in all three fixtures.

Albacete News

Albacete are in a similar situation with the hosts as they are also seeking their first win of the season. They began with a 4-4 draw at Almeria before going on to lose their last three matches.

Alberto Gonzalez's team are coming off a 4-1 home defeat to Mirandes just before the international break. They were no match for the visitors, with Daniel Escriche’s second-half effort proving a mere consolation.

Another similarity with the hosts is that Albacete also adopt an open style, which has seen them score and concede in their four league matches. All four fixtures have also produced more goals after the break.

Albacete have 10 wins while Zaragoza have earned seven victories, with eight draws in 25 previous matches. Albacete did the double last season, claiming a 1-0 away victory in the first meeting before winning 2-1 at home in the reverse fixture.

There have been more second-half goals in all four of Albacete’s matches this season, while Zaragoza have played out a similar pattern in their last three fixtures. A repeat could be expected in Monday's clash.
