Zambia face Comoros at the Stade Mohamed V in their second Group A fixture at the Africa Cup of Nations, with both teams seeking their first win in the tournament. 

Both teams will fancy their chances in this clash and are likely to go for it on Friday. Neither defence is showing much solidity at the moment, and goals could be expected here.

Zambia come into this clash off the back of a 1-1 draw with Mali in their opening fixture. They fell behind midway through the second half but struck back deep into added time, with Patson Saka getting the equaliser.

Manager Moses Sichone will take the positives from the performance as Zambia showed character to keep fighting until the end. That result also ended a run of four straight defeats for Chipolopolo. 

One of the major issues for Zambia is a lack of discipline at the back, having failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five matches. Their last four matches have produced over 1.5 goals, while they have scored at least one second-half goal in three of those fixtures. 

Comoros News


Comoros began their AFCON campaign with a defeat as they fell 2-0 to Morocco in their opening fixture. Stefano Cusin's team caused plenty of problems for the tournament hosts, but were let down by a lack of cutting edge in attack. 

Comoros will look to take the positives from that performance and will be targeting an improvement on Friday. However, that result extends a recent poor run as they have now lost their last four matches across all competitions. 

Like Zambians, the Comoros have also looked shaky at the back lately and are without a clean sheet in their last five matches. All five matches have produced over 1.5 goals, while they have scored in four of those fixtures.

Zambia have four wins while Comoros have picked up two victories, with one draw in the last seven matches. The last meeting was a COSAFA Cup clash back in June, with the Comorians picking up a 1-0 victory.

Verdict

Zambia and Comoros will fancy their chances coming into this clash and should be fired up for this one. With neither defence looking solid at the moment, both teams are expected to score here.
 
The last five matches for Comoros have produced over 1.5 goals, and a repeat could be on the cards. With Zambia scoring at least one second-half goal in three of their last four matches, that trend is likely to continue on Friday.
