There is much to play for as Wales host North Macedonia in their final Group J clash in the UEFA World Cup qualifiers.

Both teams are vying for second place and a berth in the playoffs, while an automatic ticket is also a possibility. The Welsh will be keen to make it count at home and should get the better of the visitors, who have been unconvincing on their travels.

Wales head into this clash off the back of a 1-0 away victory over Liechtenstein in their previous fixture, with Jordan James' second-half effort proving the difference. That was a vital result for Craig Bellamy's team, who are now level on 13 points with North Macedonia and two behind leaders Belgium.

The task is straightforward for Wales as a win on Tuesday guarantees a playoff place while a defeat for the Belgians in the other group game earns an automatic ticket. The good news for the Welsh is that they have done well at home lately, winning two of their last three qualifying matches in front of their fans.

Wales have no problems in attack and have scored over 1.5 goals in their last three qualifying fixtures. Four of their last five matches across all competitions have also produced over 2.5 goals.

North Macedonia News

North Macedonia are coming off a 0-0 draw with Latvia in a friendly last Thursday. That was the third straight draw across all competitions for the visitors, who were held to a 1-1 home scoreline by Kazakhstan in their previous qualifying fixture.

Recent results mean pressure is beginning to mount on North Macedonia, who are now in a similar situation to Wales. However, Blagoja Milevski's team simply have to avoid defeat on Tuesday, although a win could also earn automatic qualification depending on the other result.

One problem for North Macedonia heading into this clash is their form on their travels as they are winless in their last two matches. Five of their last nine away matches have also produced over 2.5 goals.
