Valencia welcome Real Sociedad to the Mestalla for their opening fixture in the new Spanish La Liga season.

There was little to separate both teams last term as they finished level on points. Neither attack is convincing at the moment, and Saturday's clash is likely to produce few goals.

Real Sociedad finished 11th last season, only above Valencia on goal difference. However, while the hosts were picking up their form at the end, La Real were in a slump and failed to win seven of their final eight league matches.

Imanol Alguacil departed at the end of the season, with Sergio Francisco the new man at the helm. The new manager has overseen arrivals like Duje Caleta-Car and Goncalo Guedes. Real Sociedad were unbeaten in preseason and played out a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth in their final warm-up game.
