Premier League newcomers Sunderland have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Ivorian winger Simon Adingra from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Black Cats are quoted to have agreed to a €21 million fixed fee with Brighton, including €3m in add-ons.

Sunderland have also agreed personal terms with Adingra, who is set to undergo his medical before sealing a move to Wearside.

The 23-year-old joined Brighton in June 2022 but made his debut for the Seagulls in the opening game of the 2023-24 season. He has played 73 times for the South London club, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in all competitions.

Adingra played 33 matches in all competitions for Brighton last season and scored five goals. He made his international debut for Ivory Coast in June 2023 and has three goals and five assists in 22 appearances for the Elephants.

He will become Sunderland’s fifth signing this summer ahead of their return to the Premier League after an eight-year absence, joining Noah Sadiki, Enzo Le Fee, Habib Diarra, and Chemsdine Talbi.
