Germany travel to Slovakia in their opening Group A fixture of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Germans are looking to move on from their UEFA Nations League disappointment and will be fired up for this one. They appear to fare better on their travels lately and should get the better of the hosts.

Slovakia come into this clash off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Israel in a friendly back in June. That result is part of a poor run for Francesco Calzona’s team, who are winless in their last four matches, losing the last two fixtures in this stretch.

However, most of those games have been against teams like Estonia and Azerbaijan, with Thursday's clash against Germany representing a major step-up in quality of opposition.
