Sevilla will be aiming to maintain their recent resurgence when they host Villarreal in a midweek Spanish La Liga fixture.

The hosts appear to have gotten over their early struggles and are playing with confidence at the moment. They can do enough to avoid defeat against Villarreal, who are looking a bit off colour lately.

Villarreal were also victorious last weekend, earning a 2-1 home win over Osasuna. They fought back from a goal down at the break with second-half efforts from Georges Mikautadze and Pape Gueye earning them all three points.

That was a timely return to winning ways for Villarreal, who were winless in their three previous matches, suffering two defeats in this run. Marcelino's team are also winless in their travels this season, with those two defeats coming away from home.

Villarreal have no problems going forward, having scored in four of their last six matches across all competitions. However, they often struggle to maintain their discipline at the back and are without a clean sheet in their last four fixtures.
