Roma will be looking to secure the first-leg advantage when they host Sporting CP in the third round of the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifiers.

The hosts have enjoyed an impressive start to the season, with the Stade Tre Fontane proving to be a fortress. They should claim the upper hand over the visitors, who have looked a bit off colour lately.

Roma Women News

Roma secured a place in the third round of the qualifiers after picking up a 5-1 home victory over Sparta Prague. Manuela Giugliano netted a brace while Emilie Haavi, Lucia de Guglielmo and Marta Pandini also on target.

That result is part of a solid start to the season for Roma, who have won their last four matches across all competitions. All four wins have come at home, and manager Luca Rossettini will be keen to maintain that run.

Roma have plenty of quality going forward and have scored in all four matches this season. However, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their last nine matches across all competitions, all of which have produced over 2.5 goals.

Sporting CP News

Sporting CP drew a bye from the previous rounds and are set to make their first appearance in the competition. They are also yet to taste competitive action, having been in preseason mode in recent weeks.

Preseason has not been smooth for Sporting CP, who are winless in two matches and head into this clash off the back of a 3-1 defeat to Athletic Bilbao. They are also unconvincing on their travels and are winless in four of their last seven away matches across all competitions.

Sporting CP often look sharp going forward and have scored in nine of their last 10 away matches, with eight of those fixtures producing over 2.5 goals. However, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last two matches.

Head to Head

This will be the first-ever meeting between Roma and Sporting CP.
