A place in the quarter-finals is up for grabs as Roma host Torino in the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia.

The capital club will be feeling confident heading into this clash, having done some good work at home lately. They should get the better of the visitors, who are struggling to find their best form at the moment.

Roma News

Roma are making their first appearance in this year's Coppa Italia and will head into this clash in good form. They are in the mix for the Serie A title and have won three of their last four matches across all competitions.

The capital club are coming off a 2-0 home victory over Sassuolo in a league clash last Saturday, with Manu Kone and Matias Soule getting the goals. That result is part of a solid record at the Stadio Olimpico, with Gian Piero Gasperini's team winning six of their last seven home matches.

Roma often look sharp going forward and have scored over 1.5 goals in five of their last seven home matches. Three of their last five fixtures in front of their fans have produced more second-half goals.

Torino News

This is also Torino's first appearance in the Coppa Italia, and they come into the clash in poor form. Marco Baroni's team have lost three of their last five matches and were beaten 2-0 at Atalanta in a Serie A fixture last weekend.

One of the problems for Torino is a vulnerable backline that has seen them concede two or more goals in six of their last nine matches. Four of the last five fixtures on this run have also produced more goals after the break.

A poor record on the road is also among the issues for Torino this season. The Turin club are winless in six of their last nine away matches across all competitions.

Head to Head

Roma have eight wins and two draws, while Torino have been victorious just twice in the last 12 matches. However, the visitors picked up a 1-0 away win when both teams met in a Serie A fixture back in September.

Verdict

Roma have a solid record in this fixture and have also impressed on home soil lately. Having won six of their last seven matches at the Stadio Olimpico, they should have the upper hand over Torino, who are below their best at the moment.

Roma have also shown some attacking quality and having scored over 1.5 goals in five of their last seven home matches, a repeat is expected here. With both teams often finding their rhythm after the break, the second half could be tipped to produce the most goals.
