Real Madrid are looking to crank up the pressure on leaders Barcelona when they host Villarreal in a Spanish La Liga fixture on Saturday.

Real Madrid have scored first in three of their last four matches, while Mbappe already has 14 goals across all competitions so far. Seven of their last eight matches have produced over 2.5 goals, while Xabi Alonso’s team have failed to keep a clean sheet in five fixtures on this run.

Villarreal are also enjoying a fine campaign as they appear to be picking up from last season. Marcelino's team have won five of their seven La Liga matches this season and are currently third in the table, three points off the pace.

Villarreal claimed a 1-0 home victory over Athletic Bilbao last time out in La Liga and followed up that result with a 2-2 draw with Juventus in the Champions League. However, they often find things difficult on their travels and are winless in three of their last five away matches.

Scoring goals is not a problem for Villarreal, who have been on target in their last four matches. However, they are without a clean sheet in three of those fixtures, all of which have produced over 2.5 goals.
