Real Madrid and Juventus battle for a place in the quarter-finals when they meet in the round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Both teams had their moments during the group stage and could be set to serve up a thrilling encounter here. However, Los Blancos appear to be getting better as the competition progresses and should edge out the Italians, who were unconvincing in their final group game.

Real Madrid come into this clash off the back of a 3-0 victory over Salzburg in their previous fixture. They were two goals up at the break thanks to efforts from Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde while Gonzalo Garcia added the third goal after the break.

After the disappointing 1-1 draw with Al Hilal in their opening fixture, Real Madrid have now scored three goals in their last two matches. Young forward Garcia has also been a revelation for the Spaniards, scoring two goals in the competition after stepping in for the sidelined Kylian Mbappe.

The only defeat for Juventus in the Club World Cup came in their final group stage fixture. They were thrashed 5-2 by Manchester City after the manager chose to rest key players like Kenan Yildiz, Francisco Conceicao and Randal Kolo Muani.

The rested players are expected to return in this one, boosting an attack that has scored in all three matches, with two of those fixtures producing over 2.5 goals. However, the defeat to Manchester City highlighted a defensive vulnerability that could be exploited by top attacking sides.
