Portugal are aiming to stay perfect in Group F of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers when they host Hungary on Tuesday.

The Portuguese have been untouchable in this campaign and have already beaten the visitors in the reverse clash. Their overall record in this fixture is also solid, and are expected to get the better of the Hungarians once again.

Portugal overcame a stern test from Ireland to claim a 1-0 home victory in their previous qualifying fixture. They struggled to get past the disciplined Irish for much of the contest before Ruben Neves struck the winner in injury time.

That result means Portugal have now won all three matches in the qualifiers and have also been victorious in five of their last six fixtures across all competitions. Roberto Martinez's team are also solid at home, winning their last six matches in front of their fans.

Driven by the ageless Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal often impress going forward and have scored in both halves in three of their last four matches. Five of their last six matches have produced over 2.5 goals, while they are without a clean sheet in four of their last five home fixtures.

Hungary were also victorious in their previous qualifying fixture, claiming a 2-0 home win over Armenia. Following a drab first half, they came to life after the break, with goals from Daniel Lukacs and Zsombor Gruber earning them all three points.

The Hungarians are attempting to keep tabs on Portugal but have only picked up one win from three matches and are already five points off the pace. Marco Rossi's team are also winless in seven of their last 10 away matches, losing five times on this run.

Hungary often struggle to keep things tight at the back and are without a clean sheet in eight of their last 10 matches across all competitions. However, they have scored in seven of those matches, while three of the last four fixtures have produced over 2.5 goals.

Portugal have never lost in this fixture, winning nine of the last 10 matches against Hungary. The Portuguese claimed a 3-2 away victory in the reverse fixture back in September.

Portugal v Hungary

Portugal have already imposed their dominance in this group and are expected to claim the upper hand over Hungary. Having earned a win and over 2.5 goals in four of their last five home matches, a repeat could be on the cards here.

The Portuguese have scored in both halves in three of their last four matches and could be set for a similar pattern. With neither defence looking convincing at the moment, both teams could be backed to score on Tuesday.
