Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Brazilian defender Jair Cunha from Brazilian club Botafogo.

Cunha secures a move to the City Ground on a five-year deal until 2030 and becomes Forest’s second summer signing following the arrival of compatriot Igor Jesus from Botafogo in a reported £10 million.

The 20-year-old joined the Lone Star in February from Santos and departs the club after scoring one goal in 22 games.

"Jair is a young talent who has shown quality during his time in Brazil, and we are happy to have secured his signature," said Forest chief football officer Ross Wilson.

"Jair has flourished in Brazil and now has new ambitions as he moves to the Premier League. We know he will be warmly welcomed into the group here in Nottingham."

The Brazilian represented Botafogo at the Club World Cup, featuring in all four matches, including a 1-0 loss to Palmeiras in the round of 16.
