Manchester United have sent an improved offer to Brentford for Cameroon forward Bryan Mbeumo.

United have been in pursuit of Mbeumo since the summer window initially opened in June, with both clubs in talks over an agreement.

Despite several other offers, the 26-year-old has chosen the Red Devils as his next destination, but United have failed to reach Brentford's valuation of the player.

The 20-time English champions have had their first two bids rejected by the Bees, who value Mbeumo highly. However, reports suggest United have tendered an improved offer worth £70 million, with add-ons included.

United are now awaiting Brentford's response, with the new bid expected to be accepted by the London club, who have already parted ways with head coach Thomas Frank and influential midfielder Christian Norgaard this summer.

Mbeumo joined Brentford in August 2019 from French club Troyes and helped them secure Premier League promotion in 2020-21. He was in blistering form for the Bees last season, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in 38 matches as they finished 10th in the league.
