Lecce are still seeking their first win of the season when they welcome Cagliari to the Stadio Via del Mare for a Friday night Italian Serie A fixture. 

The hosts have struggled at the start of the season as they appear out of sorts at the moment. They are likely to find things difficult against the visitors, who have caught the eye so far.

Lecce are enduring a tough start to the season, having failed to earn a win after three Serie A matches. They are currently bottom of the table, although it is still early days with plenty of time to get things right. 

Salentini are coming off a 4-1 defeat at Atalanta last time out in Serie A. That was the second straight defeat for Eusebio Di Francesco's team, who were beaten 2-0 at home by AC Milan in their previous fixture. 

One of the problems for Lecce is a lack of discipline at the back, as they have now conceded six goals in their last two matches. However, they have scored in three of their last four matches across all competitions, with all three fixtures producing over 1.5 goals.

Cagliari head into this clash off the back of a 2-0 home victory over Parma in their previous Serie A fixture. Yerry Mina opened the scoring in the first half, while Mattia Felici added the second goal after the break.

Manager Fabio Pisacane will be pleased with his team's start to the season as they have only lost once in four matches across all competitions. They have also won at least one half in two of their four fixtures so far. 

Cagliari have scored in three of their four matches across all competitions this season, with all three fixtures producing over 1.5 goals. However, they are a bit unconvincing at the back and are without a clean sheet in three of those four matches.

Lecce and Cagliari have picked up five wins each with six draws from the last 16 matches. However, the visitors eased to a 4-1 home victory in the last meeting back in January.

Three of the last four matches between Lecce and Cagliari have produced over 1.5 goals, with both teams scoring in all three matches. With neither defence looking solid at the moment, Friday's clash is likely to serve up a similar outcome.
