Latvia vs England Tips & Preview - Three Lions to show superior quality over the hosts
- England seeking to maintain their perfect record in World Cup Qualifiers.
- Latvia struggling with poor recent performances and no home wins.
- England expected to dominate, with likely high-scoring match.

Latvia vs England
England are aiming to maintain their perfect record as they look to secure qualification from Group K in the UEFA World Cup Qualifiers when they travel to Latvia on Tuesday.
The Three Lions have been almost unstoppable in the qualifiers and are also impressive on their travels. They should be too strong for the hosts, who are struggling in this campaign.
Latvia News
Latvia come into this clash off the back of a 2-2 home draw with Andorra in their previous qualifying fixture. They came from behind to lead through Dmitrijs Zelenkovs and Vladislav Gutkovskis, but could not hold out for the win.
That result maintains Latvia’s poor record in the qualifiers, having picked up just one win from six matches in Group K. They also suffered back-to-back defeats prior to the draw with Andorra.
Latvia have had little comfort in front of their fans and are yet to earn a home victory in the qualifiers. Paolo Nicolato's team are also winless in their last six home matches across all competitions.
England News
While the hosts are struggling in the qualifiers, England have been levels above everyone else in the Group. Thomas Thuchel’s team have won all five of their matches and hold a four-point lead at the top of the table.
England are coming off a 3-0 home victory over Wales in a friendly last Thursday. They also claimed a 5-0 away victory over Serbia in their previous qualifying fixture to extend their winning run on their travels to five matches across all competitions.
England are usually dominant and have won both halves in three of their last four away matches across all competitions. They have also won by three or more goals in their last two matches, while both fixtures have produced over 1.5 goals in the first half.
Head to Head
The only previous meeting between England and Latvia was the reverse fixture in these qualifiers, which ended 3-0 in favour of the Three Lions.
Verdict
England have been superior to everyone in Group K, and that dominance is expected to continue on Tuesday. Having won both halves in three of their last four matches and also the reverse fixture against Latvia, a similar outcome is expected here.
The Three Lions have won by three or more goals in their last two matches and could be set for a repeat. Having also seen over 1.5 first-half goals in those two fixtures, a similar pattern could be considered.
