Inter Milan begin a new era under Cristian Chivu as they host Torino in their opening Italian Serie A fixture of the season.

The Nerazzurri will look to put last season’s disappointment behind them and will be targeting a strong start. While the visitors are often tricky opponents, San Siro is usually a fortress, and a home win is expected here.

They are unbeaten in five of their last six league matches at San Siro.

Torino finished just outside the top half of the table last season after failing to win any of their final five league matches, suffering four defeats on this run. Marco Baroni is the new man at the helm and will come into the campaign targeting a place in the top 10.

Preseason was a bit disappointing for Torino, who suffered three straight defeats before beating lower league side Modena 1-0 in the Coppa Italia first round. One thing that Baroni needs to work on is the Turin club’s form on the road, having lost their last three Serie A away matches.

Baroni adopted an open brand of football at Lazio and could bring that style to Torino this season. Five of their last six matches have produced over 1.5 goals.
