Scotland continue their campaign in Group C of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers as they travel to Greece on Saturday.

The Scots are already guaranteed a top-two finish and are now looking to secure automatic qualification. They are unbeaten in the group and will fancy their chances against the Greeks, who are looking out of sorts at the moment.

Greece News

It has been a poor campaign for Greece, who have picked up just one win from their four Group C matches so far. They are already eliminated from the competition and will only be playing for pride in their last two matches.

The Greeks come into this clash with three straight defeats, including a 3-1 away loss to Denmark in their previous fixture. They have also been unconvincing in front of their fans lately, with three wins and as many defeats in their last six home matches across all competitions.

Poor defending appears to be one of the major problems for Greece, having conceded three goals in each of their last three qualifying fixtures. However, Ivan Jovanovic's team have scored in six of their last seven matches across all competitions.

Scotland News

It has been a solid qualifying campaign for Scotland, who have claimed three wins and a draw from their four matches so far. Steve Clarke's team are already guaranteed a place in the playoffs but are also in the running for automatic qualification, sitting second in the table only on goal difference.

Scotland are currently on a three-match winning run and claimed a 2-1 home victory over Belarus in their previous fixture. They are also unbeaten in their last five away matches, winning at least one half in four of those fixtures.

Goals have not been a problem for Scotland lately, having scored in five of their last six matches across all competitions. However, they are without a clean sheet in their last two qualifying fixtures.

Head to Head

Scotland have three wins while Greece have picked up two victories in the last five matches. The Scots earned a 3-1 home victory in the reverse fixture and also won 1-0 in the last away meeting with the Greeks during the UEFA Nations League.

Verdict

Scotland are unbeaten in the qualifiers and also boast a solid recent record against Greece. They can earn a win or draw in this one, with the Greeks struggling to find their best form at the moment.

Both teams have shown some defensive vulnerability lately and could be backed to score on Saturday. Having won at least one half in four of their last five away matches, Scotland could be set for a similar pattern here.
