Galatasaray are looking to bounce back from a disappointing UEFA Champions League showing when they host Konyaspor in a Monday night Turkish Super Lig fixture.

The champions are dominating the domestic scene once again and also boast a solid record in this fixture. They should have too much quality for the visitors, who are a bit unconvincing at the moment.

Galatasaray come into this clash off the back of a disappointing 5-1 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt on match-day one of the Champions League. They struck early in the first half through Yunus Akgun but went on to suffer a capitulation.

Manager Okan Buruk will be keen to move on quickly from that result as they return to domestic action. Galatasaray have won all five of their Super Lig matches, claiming a 2-0 victory over Eyupspor in their previous fixture.

Galatasaray often dominate in the Super League and have won by two clear goals in all five of their matches, while leading at the break in four of those fixtures. There have also been over 1.5 second-half goals in their last five matches across all competitions.

Konyaspor are also coming off a defeat as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Alanyaspor last time out in the Super Lig. Enis Bardhi struck a second half equaliser after going behind before the break but they failed to hold on for the break.

That result means Konyaspor have now failed to win their last two Super Lig matches having been held to a 1-1 draw at Goztepe in their previous fixture. However, the good news for Recep Ucar’s team is that they have only lost once this season and will be keen to avoid going on a lengthy winless run.

Konyaspor have some attacking quality and often adopt an open style of play that produces goals. Their last five matches across all competitions have served up over 1.5 goals in the second half.

Galatasaray have eight wins and one draw, while Konyaspor have picked up just three victories in the last 12 matches. The champions claimed a 5-1 away victory in the last meeting back in April.
