Elche kick off their return to the Spanish La Liga as they host Real Betis in a Monday night clash.

The hosts are keen to avoid any struggles this season and will look to make a positive start. However, they could be in for a difficult time against the visitors, who are aiming to build on a solid campaign last season.

After two years in the Segunda Division, Elche secured promotion to the topflight after finishing second last season. However, they had an erratic end to the campaign, claiming two wins and suffering as many defeats in their final four league matches.

However, their form in preseason might be a bit worrying for manager Manuel Pellegrini, with the visitors losing their last two matches, including a 3-1 defeat to Malaga last time out.

Real Betis have been busy in the transfer window but remain unable to complete a permanent deal for winger Antony, who was influential on loan last season. Their open style has seen them score and concede in their last two matches, both of which have produced more goals after the break.
