Denmark vs Greece

Denmark are looking to strengthen their lead at the top of Group C as they host Greece in a UEFA World Cup qualifying clash on Sunday.

The Danes are unbeaten so far in the campaign and are driven by a solid attack. They should have the upper hand over the Greeks, who appear to have lost their way in recent matches.

Denmark News

Denmark were in rampant mood last time out in the qualifiers as they eased to a 6-0 away victory over Belarus. They were largely untroubled throughout the contest, with Rasmus Hojlund and Anders Dreyer each netting a brace.

That result means Denmark remain unbeaten in the group, claiming two wins and a draw from three matches. However, they are only top of the table in goal difference, with Scotland breathing heavily down their necks.

Denmark have shown some attacking quality lately, scoring over 1.5 goals in five of their last six matches across all competitions. All five fixtures for Brian Riemer's team on this run have also produced over 2.5 goals.

Greece News

Greece travel to Parken Stadium off the back of a 3-1 away defeat to Scotland in their previous qualifying fixture. They held their own throughout the first half and took the lead just after the break through Kostas Tsimikas, but ultimately suffered a defensive capitulation.

That was the second defeat in three qualifying matches for Greece, who were also beaten 3-0 at home by Denmark in their previous clash. However, having won four of their last five away matches across all competitions, Ivan Jovanovic's side will still head into this clash with some confidence.

Greece are looking vulnerable at the back lately and have conceded three goals in each of their last two matches. However, they also show some attacking quality, which has seen their last six matches across all competitions produce over 2.5 goals.

Head to Head

Denmark have seven wins while Greece have picked up three victories, with four draws in the last 14 matches. The Danes eased to a 3-0 away victory in the reverse fixture back in September.

Verdict

Denmark have already shown their superior quality over Greece in the reverse fixture and will be feeling confident here. Having won four of their last five matches across all competitions, they could be set for another home win.

The Danes often impress going forward and having scored over 1.5 goals in five of their last six matches, a repeat could be considered. With Greece’s last six matches producing over 2.5 goals, a similar outcome is on the cards here.
