Arsenal will be looking to crank up the pressure on leaders Liverpool when they host West Ham in an English Premier League fixture on Saturday.

The Hammers are targeting a new manager bounce, but could be in for a tough time at Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are generally solid at home and are expected to claim a comfortable victory here.

Arsenal moved to within two points of Liverpool after coming from behind to claim a 2-1 victory at Newcastle United last time out in the Premier League. Having trailed for much of the encounter, they struck back through Mikel Merino before Gabriel netted the winner deep into injury time.

The Gunners have still only lost once across all competitions this season and can climb to the top of the table with a win on Saturday as they play before Liverpool. Mikel Arteta followed up the win at Newcastle with a 2-0 home victory over Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League.

Arsenal are considered one of the best defences in the league and have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four home matches. They have also won the first half in those three fixtures.

West Ham News

West Ham travel to the Emirates off the back of a 1-1 draw at Everton in their previous Premier League fixture. They fell behind early in the first half but struck back midway through the second, thanks to Jarrod Bowen’s effort.

That was the first match in charge for manager Nuno Espitrito Santo, who will be pleased to have picked up a point on his debut. West Ham will be hoping for some extended new manager bounce as they look to use that result as a springboard for a resurgence.

The problem for West Ham is that they are low on confidence, having picked up just one win across all competitions this season. However, there are some positives having gone unbeaten in their last two away matches.

Arsenal have seven wins while West Ham have picked up just two victories, with three draws in the last 12 matches. However, the Hammers’ two wins have come at the Emirates, and they claimed a 1-0 away victory back in February.
