Arsenal have completed the £15 million signing of Denmark international Christian Norgaard from Brentford.
Norgaard has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Gunners. The deal includes an option for a further year and is “subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”
The 31-year-old secures a move to the Emirates Stadium after six seasons at Brentford, where he made 196 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 18 assists.
Norgaard played a huge part in helping the Bees gain promotion to the Premier League in 2021 and has since made 122 appearances in the English top-flight, including 34 last season, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
He becomes the third summer signing for Mikel Arteta’s side, following the arrivals of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea and Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
The Danish midfielder has been handed the number 16 shirt at Arsenal, previously worn by the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Rob Holding, Mathieu Flamini and Sylvinho.
