Egypt are looking to maintain their perfect record in Group B of the AFCON when they face Angola at the Stade Adrar.

The Pharaohs have already sealed a spot in the knockout phase but will be keen to maintain their momentum. They should show their superiority over the Palancas Negras, who are winless in the group.

Angola News

Angola head into this clash off the back of a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe in their previous fixture. They struck midway through the first half through Gelson Dala but were unable to hold on and were pegged back just before the break.

Having suffered a 2-1 defeat to South Africa in their opening fixture, Angola are now without a win after two matches in Group B. However, they are still in the mix to progress to the round of 16 but must win on Monday to stand a chance.

The problem with Angola is that their overall form has been a bit erratic lately, with three wins and four defeats from their last 10 matches across all competitions. The last five matches for Patrice Beaumelle's have produced over 1.5 goals.

Egypt News

Egypt sealed a round of 16 berth after claiming a 1-0 victory over South Africa in their previous fixture. Mohamed Salah’s penalty in first-half injury time proved to be the difference, and they were able to hold on for the win.

The Pharaohs are already through to the round of 16 but will be keen to maintain their momentum. Hossam Hassan’s team have now won their last three matches across all competitions.

Beyond the AFCON, Egypt's overall form has been solid, winning at least one half in six of their last seven matches across all competitions. They have also scored at least one first-half goal in two of their last three matches, with two of those fixtures producing over 1.5 goals.

Head to Head

Egypt have never lost in this fixture, earning four wins and three draws from seven previous matches against Angola. Both teams met in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with the Pharaohs winning 1-0 at home before holding out for a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture.
