Ajax begin a new era under manager Johnny Heitinga as they host Telstar in their opening fixture of the Dutch Eredivisie.

The Amsterdam club will be keen to put last season’s disappointment behind them and attack the title once again. They looked solid in preseason and should have too much quality for the newly promoted side.

However, a clash against Ajax represents a step up in quality of opponents, while a recent 5-0 defeat to Jong Sparta Rotterdam highlights what they could be in for on Sunday.
