AC Milan continue their title chase when they host Genoa in an Italian Serie A fixture on Thursday.

The Rossoneri are keeping close tabs on bitter rivals Inter Milan and come into this clash with an impressive home record. They should be too strong for the visitors, who are still finding their feet after a managerial switch.

AC Milan will consider themselves in the title race, as they sit just three points behind leaders Inter Milan. Massimiliano Allegri's team have still only lost one Serie A game all season and will be keen to maintain the pressure on their rivals.

The Rossoneri come into this clash off the back of a 1-0 victory at Cagliari last time out in Serie A, with Rafael Leao’s second-half effort proving the difference. San Siro has been a fortress lately, and they are unbeaten in their last nine home matches across all competitions, picking up seven wins on this run.

AC Milan have impressed going forward, scoring over 1.5 goals in six of their last eight home matches. They have also won to nil in three of their last five home matches, claiming a 3-0 victory over Verona in their previous fixture in front of their fans.

In contrast to Milan's fine showings this season, Genoa are enduring a difficult campaign so far. They have picked up just three Serie A wins this season and are just three points above the relegation zone.

Despite switching managers in November, Genoa have seen little improvement in their fortunes. Daniele De Rossi's team are winless in five of their last six matches, suffering four defeats on this run and playing out a 1-1 home draw with Pisa last time out.

Genoa have also found things difficult on their travels, losing five of their last eight away matches across all competitions. They have suffered some heavy defeats on this run, like the 4-0 Coppa Italia thrashing at Atalanta and the 3-1 loss at Roma in their previous Serie A fixture on the road.

AC Milan have eight wins and three draws, while Genoa have picked up just one victory in the last 12 matches. The Rossoneri claimed a 2-1 away win in the last meeting back in May.

Thursday's clash is likely to be a mismatch, with AC Milan expected to have too much quality for a struggling Genoa side. The Rossoneri have scored over 1.5 goals in six of their last eight home matches, and a repeat is expected here.

Given Genoa's penchant for heavy defeats on their travels, AC Milan could be backed in the handicap market. The hosts have also won to nil in three of their last four home matches, and a similar outcome could be considered.
