AC Milan continue their title chase when they host Genoa in an Italian Serie A fixture on Thursday.

In contrast to Milan's fine showings this season, Genoa are enduring a difficult campaign so far. They have picked up just three Serie A wins this season and are just three points above the relegation zone.

Despite switching managers in November, Genoa have seen little improvement in their fortunes. Daniele De Rossi's team are winless in five of their last six matches, suffering four defeats on this run and playing out a 1-1 home draw with Pisa last time out.

Genoa have also found things difficult on their travels, losing five of their last eight away matches across all competitions. They have suffered some heavy defeats on this run, like the 4-0 Coppa Italia thrashing at Atalanta and the 3-1 loss at Roma in their previous Serie A fixture on the road.

AC Milan have eight wins and three draws, while Genoa have picked up just one victory in the last 12 matches. The Rossoneri claimed a 2-1 away win in the last meeting back in May.

Thursday's clash is likely to be a mismatch, with AC Milan expected to have too much quality for a struggling Genoa side. The Rossoneri have scored over 1.5 goals in six of their last eight home matches, and a repeat is expected here.

Given Genoa's penchant for heavy defeats on their travels, AC Milan could be backed in the handicap market. The hosts have also won to nil in three of their last four home matches, and a similar outcome could be considered.
