EuroBasket preparations heating up

Several interesting test matches between national teams preparing for EuroBasket 2025 took place on August 6, with some of the top medal contenders delivering strong performances.

Serbia defeated Poland 79–67 behind closed doors in Belgrade, while Greece beat Belgium 74–60 in Athens.

Serbia extends winning streak

After defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina in a high-scoring game (120–86), Serbia once again made it clear they are the top favorite for the upcoming European Championship.

This time, their defense stepped up, allowing only 67 points in the win over Poland.

The game was played behind closed doors, and aside from the final score, no other details or individual stats were released. The key moment came in the third quarter, when Serbia pulled away and built a double-digit lead.

Greece starts campaign with a win

This was Greece’s first test match, and they started it perfectly with a routine win over Belgium.

Just like Serbia did against Poland, the Greeks tightened up their defense, allowing only 60 points.

Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play in this game, while Panathinaikos forward Dinos Mitoglou led the way with 18 points.

Giannis’s brother, Thanasis, returned to the court after a long absence due to an Achilles injury, scoring 6 points in 12 minutes of action.
