Will it be Georgia, who defeated the reigning champion Spain in the opening game of the tournament, or Bosnia & Herzegovina, who need nothing but a win here to reach the Round of 16?

After two heavy defeats against Spain and Italy, Bosnia & Herzegovina earned their first big victory at EuroBasket on Tuesday.

They defeated Greece 80:77 and improved to a 2:2 record, the same as Spain and Georgia.

It seems Greece underestimated Bosnia a bit by resting Giannis Antetokounmpo in this game, but that should not take away from the magnitude of this win.

Bosnia & Herzegovina triumphed despite poor shooting percentages from the field and an awful freethrow percentage. They compensated with hustle on defense, rebounding control, and team play.

Jusuf Nurkic was among the best players on the court with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, veteran John Roberson had his best game of the tournament with 18 points, and Edin Atic contributed 14 points and 8 rebounds.

Due to a worse head-to-head record against Spain, only a win in this game will secure Bosnia’s place in the next round.

Georgia Form & Team News

As expected, Georgia convincingly beat the weakest team in the tournament, Cyprus, and recorded their second win.

The most efficient player was veteran Toko Shengelia with an impressive 27 points, followed by Orlando Magic center Goga Bitadze who posted a strong double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds.

With a win here, Georgia would certainly secure a place in the next phase of the competition as the third-placed team in the group. With a loss, however, they would depend on the result of the Greece-Spain game, where they would be cheering for coach Vassilis Spanoulis’ squad.

Georgia is still waiting for their first-ever progression to the EuroBasket knockout phase, and now ahead of the last group game, they have an ideal scenario in front of them.

This will be the third official meeting between these nations. Both teams have one win each, from the EuroBasket 2013 qualifiers.

Conceptually, two very similar teams that rely heavily on their big men and the production they bring.
There will be several interesting matchups as well as tactical battles between the two experienced coaches.
