RFS host Malmo in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

Both teams earned solid results in the first round and will be keen to continue their progress. However, Malmo's experience at this level could be an advantage, and they should have the upper hand in this one.

RFS did the double over Levadia for a 2-0 aggregate victory to progress to the second round of the competition. However, they have never made it beyond this stage in the Champions League and lost 7-2 on aggregate to Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in last season’s competition.

The good news for RFS is that they are already in competitive action domestically and have won nine of their last 10 matches. Viktors Morosz's team claimed a 4-0 victory over Metta in a Virsliga fixture last weekend.

RFS are often sharp in attack and have played out a few high-scoring results like the 7-1 victory over Daugavpils. Five of their last eight goals have been scored after the break.

Malmo also did the double in the previous round, earning a 6-2 aggregate victory over Iberia 1999. Having made it to the playoffs last season, Henrik Rydstrom's team will be keen to go one better this time around.

The Swedes have been in good form lately, winning their last four matches across all competitions. They have also won their last two away matches, earning a 2-0 victory at Oster in a domestic fixture last weekend.

Malmo have plenty of quality going forward and have scored first in their last four matches across all competitions. Eight of the 11 goals in this run have been scored in the second half.

There has been only one previous meeting between RFS and Malmo, with the Swedes claiming a 1-0 victory in a friendly back in 2024.

RFS will be keen to claim the first leg advantage here, but face a Malmo side with plenty of quality and experience at the level. The Swedes have scored first on the way to winning their last four matches and could be set for a similar outcome on Tuesday.

Both teams have a habit of leaving things late, and this clash is expected to produce more goals after the break.
