A thrilling encounter is on the cards as France battle Germany in the UEFA European Women's Championship quarter-finals.

France have been one of the best teams in this tournament and qualified for the knockout stage with a 100% record. They began with a 2-1 victory over defending champions England and beat the Netherlands 5-2 in their previous fixture. 

That victory follows a 4-1 thrashing of Wales, with both matches highlighting France’s attacking quality. However, Laurent Bonadei's team remain vulnerable at the back, conceding in all three group stage matches, all of which have produced over 2.5 goals. 

France’s performance at this tournament is an extension of their fine showing at the UEFA Women's Nations League, where they won all six matches. Les Bleues are currently on an 11-match winning run across all competitions.

Germany come into this clash off the back of a 4-1 defeat to Sweden in their final group stage fixture. They took a first-half lead through Jule Brand but suffered a defensive capitulation, with Carlotta Wamser getting sent off.

Despite that result, Germany still progressed to the knockout phase after finishing second behind the Swedes. They began their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Poland before beating Denmark 2-1 in their second group fixture.

Led by Brand and Lea Schuller, who have two goals each, Germany have impressed going forward at the Euros, scoring in all three matches. However, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last two matches, with both fixtures producing over 2.5 goals.

France and Germany have three wins each in the last six matches. The French claimed a 2-1 victory in the last meeting between both teams during the 2024 Nations League.

France have been almost unstoppable in this competition, easing past some of the top sides during the group stage. Germany showed they can be vulnerable against the top sides with that defeat to Sweden, and the French are expected to come out on top, having won the last meeting.
